POKER EDGE ACADEMY

Editorial standards
and corrections.

Useful poker education makes its reasoning visible. These standards explain what our learning material and news should provide, and how to tell us when something needs correcting.

Examples you can check

Our free guides use constructed hands to teach a specific idea. They are not reports of hands played by named professionals. We show the pot, bet sizes and relevant assumptions so you can reproduce the calculation. A range or frequency chosen for an example is an assumption, not a measured population tendency.

We distinguish exact arithmetic from estimates. Drawing probabilities are not automatically showdown equity; chip expected value is not automatically tournament prize-money value. We identify simplifications such as no rake, no future betting or fixed outs where they matter. Examples are not solver outputs unless a model and its settings are explicitly provided.

News, sources and interpretation

News roundups should link to the sources supporting the reported facts, prioritising organisers and official results. Event dates, publication dates and coverage windows have different meanings and should be labelled accordingly. Prize amounts should identify the currency and distinguish guarantees from final payouts.

Our summaries should use original wording and separate verified reporting from educational interpretation. An event result alone does not prove that a particular strategy is optimal. Unverified rumours, invented quotes and promotional gambling offers do not belong in the roundup.

Photographs attached to individual news stories should depict the relevant real subjects and have verifiable reuse permission. When a suitable photo is unavailable, the story can appear without one. Decorative imagery on learning and marketing pages is not evidence of an event.

Attribution and updates

Material attributed to Poker Edge Academy is published under the academy’s name. That byline does not imply independent accreditation, a professional tournament record or review by a named expert. We do not use fictional expert biographies to support a strategy claim.

A publication date identifies when a guide was introduced. A substantive revision should carry an updated date. Dates should not be refreshed merely to make unchanged content appear new. Readers should evaluate the explanation, assumptions and supporting sources as well as the byline.

Maintaining the learning resources

Our public change log records substantive additions and material corrections from 18 October 2026 onward. Updates should identify the affected resource and explain what changed. New exercises should state their assumptions, include reproducible working and link to the relevant guide.

When revising a resource, check its calculations, links, mobile readability and interactions. Keep dated news separate from evergreen teaching examples. Reader questions and correction reports help identify unclear explanations; they do not substitute for checking the underlying reasoning.

The practice lab stores progress in the reader’s browser. It does not display fabricated student totals or imply that completing an exercise demonstrates profitable play.

Report an error or ask a question

Email hello@pokeredgeacademy.com with the page URL, the passage or calculation in question, and your suggested correction or source. For a numerical error, include the inputs you used so the result can be reproduced.

Confirmed material errors should be corrected on the affected page with a short note explaining what changed. Minor spelling or formatting corrections do not need a separate notice. Reporting a concern does not guarantee that the suggested change will be accepted; the underlying evidence matters.

Education and advertising

The free guides are available without an account or course purchase. Links to the paid course describe an optional next step. Advertising placements, when served, are labelled separately from editorial content; an advertisement is not a recommendation from Poker Edge Academy.

Our content is for adults aged 18 and over. Poker involves financial risk, and study does not guarantee winnings. Calculations and examples are educational models, not individual financial advice.
